Chinatown
My first introduction to Chinatown was the bottle, I've yet to see the bottle in person but in pictures it's stunning! As I read the notes of this fragrance, I had no doubt in my my mind that this fragrance would probably be added to my long list of fragrances I'd like to include in my collection.
According to Luscious Cargo, The notes in this fragrance are:
Top: Peach Blossom, Bergamot
Middle: Gardenia, Tuberose, Peony, Orange Blossom
Base: Patchouli, Cedarwood, Vanilla, Sandalwood, Cardamom and Guaiac Wood
When I applied it I thought "Flowerbomb?" This is a patchouli heavy fragrance that reminded me a lot of Flowerbomb, what makes this different is Flowerbomb is a lot more citrusy where Chinatown is much spicier. The flowers in here are a lot more subtle than I expected them to be. It is also a lot woodier than I expected with a touch of sweetness that must be the vanilla.
The patchouli and cardamom make the biggest impression on this fragrance, as I love spicy fragrances I do like this fragrance a lot but I'm not quite sure if I love this fragrance. That's going to require further testing of this fragrance but for now I'll settle for liking it.
I think this would be a great evening fragrance for those who are hesitant to wear patchouli heavy fragrances and an all day fragrance for those who aren't.
Flowerbomb retails for $110/1.7 oz. which is available at
Luscious Cargo and $178/3.3 oz at
