Fleur d'Iris

Fleur d'Iris

Fleur d'Iris is such a subtle, subtle fragrance so subtle in fact that it is rarely talked about. The fragrances of Maitre Parfumeur et Gantier always work on my skin whether I like the fragrance or not. But I do love Fleur d'Iris in so many ways.

The notes in Fleur d'Iris are:

Top: Rose, leafy green
Middle: Iris, vanilla, jasmine, violet.
Base: Ambergris, vetiver, musk.

With all Maitre Parfumeur et Gantier's fragrances, the top notes seem a bit heavy on me. Fleur d'Iris starts off the same way, incredibly green. The first time I tried this I didn't like it but I gave it a chance and let it linger on my skin. After a while it remains green but the vanilla and violet come into play with very light jasmine. It smells very earthy because of the iris. After the topnotes dry, it becomes a bit powdery with vetiver and a hint of amber. Everytime I wear this fragrance, I get a vision of a bridal bouquet in an outdoor wedding. A soft, delicate, pale bridal bouquet. Anytime I wear this fragrance I feel as happy and beautiful as a bride.

The drawback on this fragrance is that it's too subtle, when you think it's disappeared all of the sudden you are hit by the sun and the notes bring the fragrance back to life. Perfect for warm months when you have to wear a subtle fragrance and it works as an all day fragrance, truly beautiful.

It retails for $105/3.3 oz. at Aedes, B-Glowing, Beautyhabit and Luscious cargo

lovely review, S.

Great review. Somehow, I did not know about this iris. Thanks for the thumbs up, S!

I don't know if this fragrance is just overlooked or if people are underimpressed by it but I really like it.
