Phantom of the Opera

Phantom of the Opera.



I can't believe it took me so long to see The Phantom of the Opera! Phantom had been one of my absolutely favorite musicals for years so I couldn't wait for it to come out on film. Chicago, one of my other longtime favorites however left me feeling a bit disappointed.

For this girl who grew up singing the counteract over and over, pretending to be Sarah Brightman I didn't think that anyone would be a perfect fit for the part of Christine. I'm so glad that I was wrong, Emmy Rossum sang as though this part was written for her. She has an amazing voice and I can't wait to see her in other movies.

I want Gerard Butler to be my Angel of Music!

In sleep he sang to me
in dreams he came
That voice which calls to me
and speaks my name
And do I dream again
for now I find
the phantom of the opera is there
Inside my mind

I want Patrick Wilson (who happens to also love Chick-O-Sticks) to be my Raoul!

Your fears are far behind you
This movie couldn't have been more perfect, it was like my dream cast and I didn't know it! Well, there was one person I would have recast, that was Minnie Driver as Carlotta. I don't know what it is about her but I dislike her for some reason. Although, I'm sure she's nice.
Cinematic versions of Rent and The Producers are already in the works!
Attention Hollywood, please, please, please make a cinematic version of Les Miserables, preferably with Colm Wilkinson as Jean Valjean!
I also wouldn't mind seeing a cinematic version of Side Show! Pay no attention that it was the second biggest failure of a Broadway show! Pay no attention that's it's incredibly politically incorrect! Alice Ripley and Emily Skinner were the first two women in the history of the Tony awards to be up as a duo for Best Actress in a Musical!
