Serge Lutens Bois de Violette

Serge Lutens Bois de Violette

I forgot to post this yesterday as this was yesterday's scent of choice. The notes in Bois de Violette are: cedar, violet leaves and violet flowers. It's described on the site as ethereal, vivacious and sparkling.

It starts off incredibly woody on me, if you're looking for a heavy cedar chest fragrance this isn't it. There is a subtle smokiness to this wood but not like cedar firewood. I swear I could also smell a hint of tobacco in the beginning. It takes a while before the violet kicks in but when it does this scent is heavenly. Not a powdery violet at all, and not sweet but earthy. I am really loving this fragrance!

Such a beautiful fragrance that I feel would be best worn in cooler months, certainly one that can be worn all day but would most perfect at night. Don't let that stop you from wearing this in warmer months as this is a incredibly versatile fragrance. The staying power is about average which is unusual for a Serge Lutens fragrance on my skin. When I first applied it, my skin was incredibly dry and it sucked up the scent very fast. I tested it again with on top of a lot of lotion and the staying power was much better that time but still faded sooner that I would have liked it to have.

As this is part of the exclusive range it isn't available to purchase here but luckily decants and on occasion bottles are available through Ebay.
