Other perfume tips

18 Jan 1946 --- Here is a tip from Lee Maidman, style director of Renoir Parfums: a thin perfumed pad in the heel of the shoe overcomes stale odors. --- Image by © Bettmann/CORBIS

18 Jan 1946 --- Here is a tip from Lee Maidman, stye director of Renoir Parfums: a perfumed heart, right next to your heart, is a chichi touch. Warmth intensifies the values of the perfume essence so don't overdo. --- Image by © Bettmann/CORBIS

18 Jan 1946 --- Here is a tip from Lee Maidman, stye director of Renoir Parfums: perfume drifts upward as well as outward, so a touch of fragrance on the hem of an evening gown is a good trick. Use sparingly, the scent will be dissipated in a few hours by the movement in dancing. --- Image by © Bettmann/CORBIS

All photos taken from Corbis, I just searched for perfume and found them there. They also have great photos of Becks on that site! Oh Becks!! *swoons*

Comments:
Good finds there S. Interesting. I'm actually quite fond of wearing parfum near my heart, but not any of the lighter concentrations really. I don't know about the hemline of my dress for dancing though, heh.

What great photos. Thanks for finding them and sharing.

This was great! I love the look on the model placing a heart over her heart! xoxo

Where are you getting these? So funny/cool.

I like her hairdo! :-)

Am I the only one who can't figure out what those perfume bottles are? I KNOW I'm not the only one who cares! Can anybody help me out?

I laughed out loud when I read about applying it to the hemline of my dress. Anyhow, the day dresses are cut now - especially above the knee - you're better off just applying it behind the knee!

That heart is cute isn't it. Makes you wonder why someone doesn't market scented hearts to wear.

All photos are from Corbis and I updated the post with a link.

I love her hair as well, I love hairstyles from days long ago.

No idea on the bottles, perhaps MUA could help you better?

"scent will be dissipated in a few hours by the movement in dancing"

That's my favorite line; I can visualize everyone dancing in long skirts to Glenn Miller big band music, wafting Ma Griffe. Thank you for sharing these lovely photos.

Trina, it's driving me crazy that I can't see what perfume that is. My first thought was Youth Dew.

Well, the article features Renoir Parfums, so I did a little search and found a listing of Renoir perfumes from the 1940s with pics of perfume ads. Neat, but I've never heard of any of these perfumes.

Sorry--search "Renoir".
